Yes it shows stains (or how well you cleaned up). But we bought it to test for Depression era Uranium glass. Works too.

Cheap and cheerful, even comes with batteries! No frills, does exactly what it's supposed to for my purposes (checking authenticity of natural amber in my instance). No more, no less. No idea about checking for stains, sorry :-)

Very surprised at how effective this is. Shine on your surfaces so you can see the stains wiped away. Very impressed considering the price.

Awesome torch. Does it’s job toooooo well. Never looking at the carpet the same way again. #gross

Seems to pick up fibres in the (brand new) carpet as well, not particularly good at stain detection so not helpful for toilet training a puppy. Works amazingly well at making fluorescent clothes glow though! :-)

Handy size and good quality wee torch.

Not bad, not bad. Does what it's supposed to. Batteries seem a bit loose inside but it's worth the money spent on it

This appears to simply be a blue/purple flashlight, it doesn’t show up “interesting” stains… the other reviews are making me second guess myself though!

Bought to prove a point to the men in the house regarding their abysmal aim, point was well and truly proven and now my bathroom is squeaky clean and I have not had to step or sit in pee since. Does exactly as it says, pretty good buy for the price, considering batteries were also included.

Easy to use and does the job

Basic device, I use it to flash cure my UV nail products (I'm a certified professional and don't recommend unqualified people use UV curing products without proper training). Cheap, effective, I'm happy with the torch.
