A lovely read that will charm the young and young at heart. Beans' determination to recover his hat in spite of the odds thrown against him is endearing, and while life gets him down he's never out of the game for long, which is a great message.
The art is always nice to look at, with lots of appealing colours and a great sense of lighting. You can feel the progression of the day just by the colours used compared to the previous scene. There's lots of fun details, yet the backgrounds never distract from the what the reader is meant to be looking at, so the storytelling remains very clear.
My favourite parts are when Beans is with his best friend, Biscuits. They have a strong friendship and camaraderie and I would love to see more of them together in future stories, which I absolutely look forward to!
