Author Biography:

Lana earned her Bachelor of Science in Family Psychology from Brigham Young University. Over the past two decades she's put that degree to the test, raising four children while navigating fourteen moves, eight of them international. Married to a US diplomat, she's experienced year-long separations from her spouse while he served in three war zones with the State Department. Supporting families has been the hallmark of her career, volunteering in religious-based organizations, community support networks and international schools. As a writer and blogger Lana has shared her insights and wisdom with thousands of expats, and continues to illuminate cultural perceptions with episodes from her ongoing expat life. Lana currently resides in Muscat, Oman, and will be returning to the USA this year to pursue a Master's in Marriage Family Therapy. Tanya was raised bi-culturally as Belgian/American and is a seasoned expat, having orchestrated six international moves in fifteen years for herself and her family. Professionally she is an inspirational speaker, coach, and blogger in the Personal Development and Wellness industry. As co-author of this book, Tanya combines her experience as an expat spouse with her expertise in mindset, changing perspective, and happier living. She regularly speaks at international schools with her talk Life as an Expat: Attitude, Expectation and Identity, offering guidance and vocabulary to transform trailing spouses into Trail-Blazing spouses, and has helped countless expats in her coaching practice over the years. She currently resides in Stockholm, Sweden, with her husband and two children.
